是一種利用
畫圓形的玩具尺
透過兩個相切的圓
畫出複雜的圖形
下圖是簡易的玩具尺
SPIROGRAPH
is a toy ruler which draw
dramatic and complex graphic
through two circle which is tangent
to each other
the picture below is the simple kind
of this ruler
這是用SPIROGRAPH尺所畫出來的複雜圖形
我利用Processing做2D平面的模擬
透過改變兩個相切圓的半徑
及繪製點位置的不同
而形成多樣的圖形
This is the graphic I populated
by programming in Processing.
By changing the radius of two tangent circles,
and the location of the starting point,
we could draw variable complex graphic.
通常Spirograph都是2D圖像為多
試著想畫出3D的Spirograph
People usaully draw 2D Spirograph
so this time we try to draw 3D Spirograph
一開始的想法即是在2D繪製的同時
轉動X軸
使得圖形能夠3D畫
後來發現
轉動X軸,Y軸,Z軸
都可控制其變化
轉動的角度成為
你選擇如何畫出圖形的軌跡
The first thought is rotating
the X-Axis when drawing the Spirograph
to make it 3D.
After that, we thought it might
changing the Y and Z axis as well.
The rotation of the Axis is showing
how you trace the graphic in 3D space.
所以首先轉動X軸
觀察其變化
Rotating the X-Axis to see what happend.
改變相切圓半徑大小及繪圖點位置
Changing the radius of the two tagent circles
and the starting point's location.
有不規則光殘影的感覺
加入旋轉Y軸
rotate X and Y-Axis
加入旋轉Z軸
rotate X,Y and Z-Axis
this is super nice!
