Last Friday(08.07.2016), during the Mercedes Benz Amsterdam Fashion Week, digital visual creator, Jia-Rey Chang (founder of the P&ALAB) was invited by innovative fashion company, Nuages Gris, gathering with 5 young Dutch fashion designers, 3 sound composers, and other 2 digital visual creators, to develop the first interactive fashion show of all time in the Netherlands, "Immaterialicious: Carrousel de Mimetique". 5 dutch fashion designers expressed how their fashion labels represented their unique identities in the post-digital age with their projects. Collaborating with David Laport, Alberto Caruso, the project that Jia-Rey Chang involved was selected to be the show stopper of the whole event gaining numerous great compliments from the audience and the organizer during the night.
This specific piece included 5 impressive dynamic visual effects in a sequence, which is initially inspired by David Laport's fashion style and philosophy. David is currently working on a set of dresses for the touring concerts of the world famous female singer, SIA. The interactive bomber jacket was printed with David Laport's facebook's images. Through the wireless communicating sensors embedded in the garment, the model's improvising movements triggered the visual and sound effect as an interactive fashion show piece. With the spatial quality and decent style of the sound generated by the composer, Alberto Caruso, the project had been a perfect match with the dynamic visual impressions and the model's fluid body movement to give the audience a highly audio and visual integration performance.
